watching youi love watching you, when your eyes are far away and the cornersof your mouth turn up slightly - smilingat some old memory or private jokeand i, quietly looking down, smile too; sharing inyour secret happinessbut always, something shakes you to awarenessand your eyes focus, looking aroundto draw your paper closer. and ibreak a little more in knowingyou cannot be happy for more than a moment, eternally stuck in your far-away universe.maybe you'll come downand notice me someday?
to write for youi wanted to write a poem for you.so i sat down, quietly - pen in hand -and wept. because i cannotcontain the ocean in a paragraph,i can't shape your eyesin a stanza. and evenif all the world's birds were singing,it still would not compareto the symphonies of your kiss;and this makes me sad!through wild and happy fieldsi've ran, only to discover:tears can be captured, but love is always free.
just pretendingyou're just pretendingwhen you kiss me, and thesky breathes softly downon your eyelashes.when you glance quickly to the side, decide not to look me in the face.i will never re-wear thatpolka dot dress or wishi was a street lamp - becausesea-salt stains areextremely hard to wash out.
minutesI don't remember the minutesthe secondsthe day you died. All I can feelis the phone, crashinghitting the floor. The same phonehe always called me on -breaking, as I broke.Nothing butwood floorsin a house I can no longer see.
februarythe eternal Friday holidays, suck in your winter breath andgive me a quiet springtime-inside a warm car, in the echo of a kiss-don't question the February longing in your hair.
